About Debrah Lee Charatan
Known as much for her success in commercial real estate as her contributions to the community, Debrah Lee Charatan gives her time, energy and resources to a wide range of charitable organizations. For the past 15 years, Debrah has channeled much of this largesse through the Charatan Family Foundation, which targets arts, cultural, medical and other humanitarian causes in the greater New York area and beyond.
A longtime supporter of Selfhelp Community Services Foundation, Charatan helps raise and manage essential funding as vice chair of the board of trustees for the senior-care, independent living-focused organization. Involved with a number of Jewish organizations as well, Debrah is a member of the Jewish Partisans Educational Foundation, which preserves and promotes the memory of Eastern European Jews who fought against Nazi occupation during World War II. Debrah also serves on the Women’s Leadership Council of the Lincoln Center Corporate Fund and the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Real Estate Council, two of New York’s landmark cultural institutions. Other organizations supported by Debrah and the Charatan Family Foundation include the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, Park East Synagogue, Chabad of Southampton, the Jewish Museum, the Central Park Conservancy, and Chai Lifeline.
Debrah Lee Charatan serves as president of BCB Property Management Inc., a full-service multifamily and mixed-use real estate firm in New York City. In real estate for nearly 40 years, she previously owned and operated Debrah Lee Charatan Realty Inc. and Bach Realty Inc.
